Sales & Engineering: Mike RobinsonFranklin Well Services, Inc.

Mike Robinson was born and raised in the Southern Illinois oilfields and is the third generation of his family to work in the oil and gas industry.  After working as an Avionic Navigational Equipment Repairman for the United States Army and serving in Vietnam, Mike began working for Calvert Eastern Drilling Company as a rig hand and driller.  He left Calvert to pursue a career with Dowell as an Equipment Operator, where his duties included operating equipment such as cement pumps, frac pumps, and frac blenders.

In 1981, Mike became a Sales Engineer for Dowell-Schlumberger; there, he increased the sales from $300M to $1.3MM in the first year alone.  From 1988 to 2001, Mike served as the Operations Manager for Schlumberger, starting in Illinois and moving to Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Michigan.

In 1996, Mike moved to Utah to take on the responsibility of Field Service Manager.  He set the standards of performance and training requirements for all of the field personnel, including the Service Supervisors, Equipment Operators, and Bulk Plant Operators.  His responsibilities also included managing three fracturing crews, four cementing crews, and scheduling all treatments.

In 2001, Schlumberger opened a new operation in Grand Junction, Colorado, where Mike was the Operations Manager.  He was responsible for interviewing and hiring over 50 new employees for the facility, establishing safety and environmental policies, and developing the client base and marketing strategies.  In addition, he was responsible for reviewing all of the monthly financial profit and loss statements for the $20MM/year operation.

Mike became the EnCana Oil and Gas Stimulation Coordinator for Schlumberger in Colorado in 2003, working to coordinate spotting frac tanks and sand chiefs for each treatment, ensuring the proper sand and water volumes were on location, tracking all service quality indices, and coordinating all fracture treatments weekly for the $50MM operation.  On average, he scheduled 160 fracture treatments per month for the Piceance Basin in Western Colorado.

After 28 years of working with Schlumberger, Mike retired from Schlumberger and returned to Southern Illinois, where he went to work for Franklin Well Services, Inc. as a Field Sales Representative.  His duties now include:
